50 Shades of Brown is an exploration of digital skin tone and what representation in online spaces could look like. The buttons in the game are each a HEX code for a different shade of brown a simulation of blackness. The categorisation of colour and reference to the erotic drama 50 Shades of Grey explores the problematic fetishisation of people of colour both within and outside of the sex industry.
