A Cat, a Zoog, and a Gate

You are Zoey the cat, and you need to get past this gate. However, it is guarded by a strange little creature called a Zoog. Zoogs absolutely hate cats, and this one is no exception. Can you persuade him to set aside his hatred long enough for him to let you pass? If not, you could always just... you know... eat him. Like, that shouldnt be hard - hes half your size at best.
