Near the end of the 21st century, the Earths fossil fuel supply began to run dry. A scramble for a major new energy source began. Then, a discovery was made and very soon after, another one came. The first discovery was humanitys possible salvation: safe, efficient fusion energy. Reactors of all shapes and sizes were built. The second discovery was more fossil fuel reserves, found in some of the most unexpected places. Fusion rollout stalled. The infrastructure for using fossil fuels still exist...
