In psychology, a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy is when an individual, convinced or fearful of the occurrence of future events, alters his behavior in such a way as to end up causing such events. Unsurprisingly, this cyclical nature of self-fulfilling prophecies can play a role in developing and deepening Depression.
