Harry Houdini and the Mummified Meanies

In 1910, famed Illusionist Harry Houdini took a vacation in Egypt. In 1924, horror writer H.P. Lovecraft ghostwrote an account of Houdinis visit. In the story, Houdini is kidnapped, trapped beneath a pyramid, and witness to inhuman horrors. The truth of the matter is stranger than fiction: Houdinis true purpose in Egypt at the time was to rob the Pyramids of their riches and relieve the tombs of their numerous gold bars.
