Humongous Fungus is a simulation of fungus biodiversity created for the DC Jam Summer 2020 (https://itch.io/jam/dc-jam-summer-2020). It uses cellular automata with mechanics that focus on growth from decay and local communication, seeded by fungus biodiversity data from the GBIF.org Occurrence Search (https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search).
