The Eye Of Modern Mali

A virtual reality experience of Malick Sidibés solo exhibition at Red Hook Labs. Made in collaboration with OONI and sound by Jehad Nga. The VR experience curates an alternate version of the exhibition, using the same original Malick Sidibé photographs in VR within different settings and scales, in indoor and outdoor spaces during night and day. The piece featured field recordings from the areas in Bamako where Malick originally shot his photos decades ago. The result is an experience living in the eye of Malick Sidibe.
