In ancient China, emperors often built their graves to be very luxurious, to show the imperial power. But expensive funerary objects attracted many robbers. In order to protect the ancestral mausoleum, an emperor ordered one of his powerful ministers to establish fortifications in the mausoleum to stop the invasion of the robbers. The emperor gave the minister four tokens, representing the arrow tower, the poison pool, the soldier statue and the general statue.
